On an Audi specifically
Most Audi models monitor tyre pressure indirectly through the wheel speed sensors, so there is no sensor in the wheel to damage. After a repair the new pressures must be stored in the MMI or the warning stays on. On quattro cars, a replacement tyre should match the others in size, brand and wear.

Can my punctured tyre be repaired or do I need a new one?
A small nail or screw hole in the central tread is usually repairable. Damage in the sidewall or shoulder, a large cut, or a tyre driven flat until the sidewall creased means replacement. We show you the damage before deciding.
Is a tyre plug safe on the highway?
A plug pushed in from outside gets you moving, but it is treated as a temporary fix. The lasting repair is a combined plug and patch fitted from inside the tyre. We tell you which one was done.
Should I pull the nail out myself?
No. The nail is often plugging the hole and slowing the leak. Leave it in, check the pressure, drive slowly to a safe spot and message us. Pulling it out can leave you with a flat tyre in minutes.
How do I reset the tyre pressure warning on my Audi?
With all tyres at the correct pressure, open the vehicle or service menu in the MMI, choose tyre pressure monitoring and store the pressures. The light clears after a short drive. We do this for you after a repair.
