On an Audi specifically
Older Audi models run R134a. Newer ones use R1234yf, which has different service ports and needs its own machine. The two gases must never be mixed. The sticker under the bonnet states the gas type and the fill weight in grams, and the system is charged to that figure, not to a pressure guess.

Which AC gas does my Audi use?
Check the sticker under the bonnet, usually on the slam panel or near the bonnet catch. It shows R134a or R1234yf and the fill weight in grams. Send us a photo if you are not sure and we will confirm.
Why did my AC gas run out?
Refrigerant is not used up like fuel. If the system is empty, it leaked, most often from the condenser, a hose joint or the compressor seal. Filling without finding the leak means the cooling fades again within weeks.
How long does car AC gas filling take?
Plan for about an hour when the system is tight. Most of that time is vacuum and leak testing, which should not be rushed. If a leak is found, the repair comes first and the time depends on the part.
Can you fill AC gas at my home or office?
No. A proper fill needs a recovery and charging machine, so it is done at a partner workshop. Can-and-gauge top-ups in a car park cannot measure weight and often overfill the system.
