What our technicians watch for on the Q2

  • Short urban trips keep it undercharged
  • Engine-bay position means full summer heat
  • EFB can be upgraded to AGM for longer life

What to know about the Q2 battery

The Q2 is mostly a city car in the UAE: short hops, valet parking, AC on from the first second. That duty cycle never lets the battery reach full charge. If start-stop has quietly stopped working on yours, the battery is the first thing to test.

Signs your Q2 battery is on its way out

  • Start-stop stops working or shows as unavailable
  • The engine turns over more slowly on the first start of the day
  • "Low battery" or "Electrical system" messages in the instrument cluster
  • MMI or interior lights switch off sooner than they used to
  • The battery is more than two UAE summers old

Should I upgrade my Q2 from EFB to AGM?

It is a worthwhile upgrade if you do mostly short trips. AGM tolerates partial charge and heat better. We code the car to the new technology so it charges it correctly.

How long does it take to change a Q2 battery?

About 25 minutes including the test and coding. The battery is easy to reach under the bonnet.

Does an Audi need battery coding after replacement?

Most Audis built from around 2008 do. The car's energy management has to be told a new battery is fitted, with its capacity and type. We do this on site with a diagnostic tool as part of the fitting.

Which battery does my Audi need, AGM or EFB?

If your Audi has start-stop, it needs AGM or EFB, and most larger models need AGM. We check by model, year and the label on the old battery, then fit the same technology or better.

How it works

No towing. No workshop. Just this:

On site: 25 to 45 minutes

  1. Message us

Send your model, year and location pin on WhatsApp. We confirm the right battery before we drive out.

  2. We drive over

Nearest van heads to you. In Dubai that is usually 20 to 35 minutes. You get the technician's number.

  3. We test, then fit

Battery, alternator and drain test first. Needs just a jump? That is all you pay for. Needs a battery? We fit it and keep your settings.

  4. We code and you pay

New battery coded to your Audi. You see the readings, pay by card, cash or Tabby, we take the old one.
